Bir Billing- The Paragliding Destination

Image
There are a lot of hidden treasures in the beautiful valleys and meadows of Himachal Pradesh and add to that adventure sports and then you would never want to come back from such a paradise. Quaint and beautiful, such a place is BirBilling in the Kangra valley of Himachal. The place is famous for paragliding and not a very crowded spot which is nestled in the foothills of the snow covered Dhauladhar mountain ranges. We reached Bir after travelling for 4 hours in a local bus from Mandi.  Bir is a small town and provides a spectacular view of the mighty Dhauladhar ranges standing tall in front of us. The paragliding spot was at Billing at a height of 1350 metres. We decided to go half way from Bir to Billing by car and then trek on rest of the route to reach the top. We reached Billing in the evening after an hour long trek and decided to camp there. The camping and food arrangements were already made for us up there and there were 25 more people with us who were camping. ...

Untouched Tirthan Valley

The human mind can be described as a restless freak. It doesnt want to stay in one place and always wants to wander. I have recently developed a thing for less crowded and unexplored places where the human chit chatter doesnt reach my ears and all I could hear is chirping of birds and gushing of flowing water. Such a kind of place is the quaint and beautiful Tirthan Valley in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. We started our journey by boarding a bus towards Manali and left Delhi in the evening. The morning view during the last hours of the bus journey was amazing as the Beas river flowed between the mountains in narrow stream beside us. We reached Aut the following morning which is around 40kms away from Mandi and lies on the way to Manali. We boarded a local bus from Aut towards Banjaar and from there hired a taxi till Gushaini. It took us around one hour to reach Gushaini from Aut altogether. We had not per-booked our stay at any resort or hotel so we started searching for a plac...

TREK TO THE BEAUTIFUL TRIUND VALLEY

Some experiences are life-changing, they change you totally, alter your view on how you see the nature, its beauty, its depth. I have always been less of an adventurous person and almost always disliked mountain tourist spots as I always preferred beach spots instead. But one day it happened that a friend of mine planned a trek to the triund valley in Himachal Pradesh. I was reluctant at first but then I joined in to instill a little of adventure streak inside me. So we set out to Mcleodganj near Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh from Delhi. We left Delhi in the evening and the roads were smooth. The bus ride was comfortable and we were talking while the full moon was making everything sparkle outside in its bright white light. We reached Mcleodganj in the morning and I woke up to see the mesmerising peaks of the Dhauladhar ranges with one peak towering behind another and forming a beautiful chain of mountains. We had our morning tea and breakfast at Crepe Pancakes with some of...
