Slow service while dining at a restaurant
Have you ever experienced slow and sluggish service while
dining at a restaurant? I bet most people must have come across this common
phenomenon. Whenever we go out to have a sumptuous meal at a restaurant, we
expect to have our favourite dishes served to us within a considerable time. No
one wants to wait too long as it makes them restless and irritated. It is quite
obvious that some amount of time is needed by chefs to prepare the dish and
make it ready to be served but if this turns out to be a rather long time than
expected then it can prove disastrous to the reputation and goodwill of the
restaurant as the satisfaction of customers is their top priority and it would
be at stake. Sluggish service and making the customers wait too long will lead
to dissatisfaction among them and they in turn will damage the reputation of
that particular restaurant by the usual word of mouth publicity. I went through
such an experience many times but the most recent was in November last year.
I
went to this restaurant Dhaba by Claridges in DLF Saket on a friend’s birthday. We friends had
heard about this one newly opened and wanted to check it out. It had a decent
ambience with a Punjabi set up much like Pind balluchi(Anyways I found the
latter one better in everything). We ordered our dishes and then started
clicking pictures for passing our time. It took them so much time to bring our
ordered stuff that we could have taken a little nap in between. Neither was
there rush around that place nor did we order such a bucketful of dishes that
it made the chef overburdened with work. Anyways sooner or later our order
arrived and we hungry birds fed on the food. The quality was fine and the
quantity was small, nothing very impressive. Now anyone can imagine what review
we’ll give to people about that poor restaurant and its image will be in
danger. So it is better for all the restaurants that alongwith good quality
food and ambience, they should also concentrate on improving their service so
that customers don’t get pissed off.
